The setting is breathtaking and authentic, as are the well developed characters. Brilliantly portrayed by a talented cast, can’t wait to see more. Keep them coming!
  • Please Watch!

  • Poldark

I throughly enjoyed this first season of Poldark. The story is engrossing and it is well cast. Lastly, the scenery is beautiful as well. I am anxiously waiting for the second season.
  • Love the show, but 'Season Only' pass is lame

    By princessmoogs
Why are some episodes 'season only'? I only want to buy a la carte bc I have seen some on tv. Why can't you just let the customer decide for themselves since the content can be made available that way? I figure this is a PBS decision, very disappointing.
  • Addictive!

Had to purchase entire season because I just couldn’t wait to see what happened next! So beautifully written and enacted! Love it!!
  • Perfect period drama!

    By JenniferMK
This is a wonderful series. Acting, scenery and storyline are everything I want in an English period drama. Aidan Turner as Ross Poldark is brilliant. His smoldering good looks add to this series. Eleanor Tomlinson as Demelza is stunning. Their love story was tender and true. I cannot wait until Season 2 as I've already watched the entire season 1 ... Three times...
  • Fantastic!

One of my favorite shows... ever. The cinematography is amazing, as is the music. It's really beautiful to watch, and incredibly entertaining. I hope they'll continue it! I could see this taking Downton Abbey's place once it's finished.
  • Great drama, from start to finish!

    By cosmiccath
Start with a great story, add fantastic actors and a stunning score, perfect period scenery and landscapes, and then top it of with great direction … and you’ve got the perfect period drama-romance series! Can’t recommend this enough. One could only wish all television was of this quality. As others have noted the screenwriting and depth of character development makes this show addictive. Poldark shows the results of decisions and actions on the lives of everyone connected to one another in small towns and cultures; how some decisions — good or bad — can have ripple effects that span generations. The didactic nature of this chain-reaction morality lesson is powerful, and offers the immersed viewer vicarious joy and struggles, shattered expectations and what can happen when the love and humanity in some rises to showcase the best aspects of the human spirit. In our times, when the “hero” has been replaced with the antihero and love with lust, the juxtaposition of real heroes and heroines alongside their selfish and evil counterparts is a refreshing and long overdue television experience. I highly recommend this series (so far) to adults and young adults. Bravo PBS and Masterpiece!
  • So drawn in that am watching each episode multiple times

Can't say enough of episodes one thru four. This series is a must-see! Purposely stopping myself from watching the remainder as I know I will mourn the end of new episodes.

  • Love love

The first few episodes, I wasn't sure. But I quickly fell in love and now as season 2 comes to an end, I have that sad feeling of having to wait for more of this wonderful story.
  • Amazing!

I have always loved period dramas. So when I saw Poldark, I was instantly intrigued. The scenery and landscape is amazing. And the acting is superb. Aidan Turner is incredible and Eleanor Tomlinson is just stunning. They really work well together. And both deliver an amazing and flawless performance. They truly make you feel like you are right there in Cornwall. Of course, I had already seen Aidan in 'The Hobbit' and 'Being Human.' But I think that Poldark has really allowed him to unleashes his full acting ability. I highly recommend this show to anyone who loves a wonderful drama.
  • Awesome series

I haven't watched a show I loved this much in a long time. I just kept hitting the play buttons and binge-watched this entire first season. Beautifully filmed and acted. And the story is superbly handled.
  • Well done!

    Truly amazing.
  • Poldark: Perfect Period Drama from start to finish

    By purrypost11
The opening theme song is a great introduction to what will unfold on screen. The cinematography is spectacular. The cast is superb including top performances by lead actors Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson. I hope that there are more seasons (can't wait for Season 2) to come and as engrossing as the first season. For all of the die-hard fans of Downton Abbey and Outlander, this show is perfect for you. A definite must see!!!😀😀😀
  • Nope

    By Cimmerian2
Mostly obvious wooden one dimensional nonsense. Plus some Bernie Sanders insane economics from the hero just for fun. Could the unmarried sister (name?) take a few more episodes thinking about whether she should go with her sea captain? Sheesh...
  • How Will I Survive until Season 2????

    By mello2day
Definitely worth buying the season pass. Didn’t realize they cut about 6 min off each episode on PBS so having the full episodes on iTunes is a huge bonus. I don’t think I’ve ever been this addicted to a series. The story, the scenery, the acting is like eating your favorite decadent dessert with your eyes. Yes, it’s that great!!
  • I'm Hooked!

    By ellert72
I read all the reviews for this show and hesitantly decided to purchase the first episode. I'm on episode 4 now having purchased the season! This show is amazing! Everything from the storyline to the cinematography to the rich & complex characters make this show a must-see! I gave this show a chance and am so glad I did. But, don't take my word for it. Purchase the first episode and see for yourself!
  • What Quality Television Could Be. It's very good.

I read the reviews and am pleasantly surprised. This is a well-constructed, superb piece of cinematography. The story and the players will please the most discriminating fans of the period-piece. Buy the season and hope for more! It's really that good.
