  • WOW!!!!

    By Jah G
I watched this last night. I always watch every new show that is on. I did not know what it was about or what to expect. I was shocked. I think I was more into this show, than I have been into any show in a long long time. The acting was great and the story left me wanting to see more. I saved it for my mom, step dad and step brother to watch. They all liked it. Now we can watch it every week. I told my mom that only one other show ever made me want to be able to watch every episode right after I watched the first. That show was 24. It is good to have such a great show on TV. My family and I are now fans and look forward to the rest of the season and beyond!!!!
  • Good start

Reads a little Silence of the Lambs, but offered enough new material to be intriguing!
  • Gets better each episode!

    By ShepherdWB
This show keeps getting better and better each week. Each hour is a hunt for one of the criminals on the blacklist of the anti-hero played by James Spader, but there are also story arcs that transcend the episode and presumably will all tie together. If you like the Shield, CSI, Burn Notice, and similar shows, you should definitely give Blacklist a shot!
  • Love it!

James Spader always draws me in. I can't wait for the next episode.
  • Another Show Constrained By Pilot

    By Brogen23
I don't want to say this show is stupid, it seems to have some intelligence behind its overarching story. However the pilot was just that; stupid. Desperate to set up characters and motivations in a single hour, rushing through plot in a mad attempt to set up absolutely everything. If this first episode had been broken into three or four episodes, moving slower and with much more care, I would probably be rating this five stars. However, as is, this show gives little thought to reason or the questions; why, what, which, and how. For example, when moving an identified high profile target of kidnap, the FBI are easily fooled by a fake Hazmat truck and raided. Real FBI would have sent cars far ahead of a high risk target to vet out a safe path, and thus know that the Hazmat crew was false. But that was the quickest way to move the plot forward, so just forget about realism. And while you're at it forget about any training the main character has about psychology, because when someone she is loved is threatened at knife point she addresses the loved one and tells them repetitively that "it will be OK" instead of trying to resolve anything, which seems completely outside of her character. As for the James Spader character, he seems about as threatening as a sign that says "I'm super threatening" on it. The show never gives reason as to why or how he is so super threatening, the show just claims him to be like a broken record. Same thing with how intelligent he is, the show just claims it. They already set up the surprise of him being the main character's father, which is going to be as surprising as a balloon deflating. I'll be much more surprised if he isn't her father. I'll just hope that NBC doesn't do what it does best, which is ruin good shows by trying to rush everything. I feel the corporate pressure on this show, which is probably where all the low points are coming from. I'm highly expecting this show to become much better halfway through the first season or second season, if NBC decides to let the people with talent use it.

Wow better than I expected. Let see how it does.
  • Best Show On T.V.

    By Tony Checo
I now have good reason to watch T.V. I usually just watch the news and am done. I can't stand reality shows and hate the way they have taken over our T.V. culture. James Spader is a brilliant actor and am intrigued with his performance. Clever storyline, great character development, and great delivery, make this fast paced emotional thriller/drama set a new standard for other networks to follow ( quit been cheap and bring T.V. back! )
  • Just enough....

    By Zillaphy
An excellent weekly drama, offering up a new storyline each week, with just enough ongoing threads for you to pull at.
  • Best show ever!

Although the leading female character is a little pathetic and isn't well portrayed, the show is awesome! Male lead is unequivocal!
  • Intriguing and Can’t Wait

    By Nick_Nora501
I have been “taken in” by every episode. I wait, with what seems forever, for the next episode. What is going on with her husband?

I knew when I saw James Spader as the star it would be great and it has been fantastic. Beyond my expectations. The last time I was riveted to my TV was when Dallas was on. This is so much better. I didn’t know any of the other actors but I sure do now. The best group of people I have ever seen work together. Cynthia Powell

  • One Charismatic Character Can’t Save This Show

    By Studly Field Mouse
Watch a few episodes of this show and you will probably be fascinated (Jealous?) of how utterly “In Control” Spader’s character is. Wouldn’t we all like to be that powerful? But not even Jesus in the Bible exercised the kind of wildly perfect timing we see in Reddington. Everything just unfolds perfectly for him, and he always knows exactly what to to say and do. And no human being can do that. The other major problem with this show is one I have with many other shows and movies: Folks, you can’t have a machine battle on a bridge in N.Y. or D.C. featuring huge explosions and mass death without it drawing attention for miles around. And after such a battle, you don’t just act like “the show’s over” and 10 seconds later you’re staring into space looking dramatically pensive. It’s just wrong to write these stories that have nothing to do with the way law enforcement could or would ever behave. I grew up inside the beltway, and my parents both worked in D.C. Nothing like you see in this TV ever happened in terms of car chases or gun battles, apart from the 911 attacks. Maybe all really good stories have already been written.
  • Good Plot

    By ethanstall
The storyline is very intriguing, but also very rushed and slightly unrealistic. The FBI is not nearly as stupid as they seem to be without some super criminal's help. Also why does Agent Cooper's only role seem to be barking out blatantly obvious and stupid commands? I do love Spader though. The visual effects are atrocious. For instance, no private jet flies so low to the ground. If a house were to explode in a residential area, or a plane were to fall out of the sky, the damage would be exponentially greater. That said, the special effects are cheesy and hardly realistic. Despite these hiccups, the story is very well written and I can't wait for more episodes.
  • Love it!

    By lawme
Just discovered this show recently and I thought I give it a shot because James Spader ... I wasn't disappointed; he is just an amazing actor. Some of the visual effects are rather "cheap" but I still give it a 5 stars because James Spader's performance makes up for it. By the way ... is it just me or does agent Keen's husband look like Edward Snowden?
  • Silence of the Bland

    By nocrickets
NBC trying to go all gritty and edgy and cable, and mostly failing. Without Spader doing his Hannibal Lecter schtick and some excellent guest stars, there'd be very little to recommend about it. The rest of the cast, especially the young woman doing the Jodie Foster to Spader's Lecter, are totally bland and dull tv-level actors. The writers steal from every playbook they could get their hands on. Some episodes are just too dopey and preposterous to watch, and even the best aren't very well written. Most revolve around (a) viewers suspending an awful lot of disbelief and (b) FBI professionals acting like morons. Since we've all figured out the young woman's relationship to Spader by the end of the pilot, that side-arc, like the one about her husband, isn't exactly riveting. It's okay for lite entertainment if you switch off your credibility filter, but it's no biggie.
  • Cost: Season Pass vs Per Episode

    By JustinPeterB
Why must I pay ~$65 for Season 1 (per episode cost), after I go above the $24.99 Season Pass price point? It costs ~$30 to buy on BluRay, yet iTunes will not let me buy a Season Pass now and instead wants me to pay $65, twice RRP! I don’t understand the reasoning/maths behind such a pricing structure, either the cost of the season is $25 or $65. It’s also evident that in this situation, once you have exceeded the Season Pass amount, is inexplicably irreversible. At the very least, iTunes should build in a warning saying that Season Pass will be unavailable after if you proceed with the purchase of this episode, God knows iTunes have an inordinate number of pop-up windows at point of purchase regarding far more trivial matters, so what’s one more? This conduct is arbitrary, opportunistic and tantamount to a penalty. Poor form iTunes, please revise this practice.
  • Amazing!

    By Nicole19762
James Spader is absolutely amazing in this show. The show is will find yourself watching episode after episode. Great story line, keeps you asking questions (in a good way), and not a cheesy criminal drama like other shows recently. Highly suggest this show to anyone!
