  • An Amazing Plot Just Got Better

    By TheEverBlueTree
When I first saw Avatar: The Last Airbender, I was completely amazed and inspired by the amout of work and quality that was put into it. It may have seemed like a kids show, but it had a deeper meening to it that everyone could enjoy. This show is no different. It has the same, fantastic world as the old show, but with a great new twist. There is more technology, to start out with, but don't think that will ruin the plot. The inventions shown here make a wonderful starting point for a rich storyline, not to mention the bending to add on to that. The antagonists hae a lot of potential, and though they seem to be a desperate cause they are actually very formidable. The main characters are also very relatable, and I found no trouble in picking out a favorite right away. (They also add humor, so the show isn't just dark and gloomy). I don't want to say to much about this show without giving it away, but if you saw the first series (and even if you didn't), you are going to enjoy this. An easy 5/5 stars.
  • Waiting so long

I have been waiting so long for something like this to come out. Cousins and I have been talking about it for a year. I hope we find out what happened to Zuko's mom.
  • So happy right now

Avatar: the Last Airbender was the first show I really got into and fell in love with. I'm serious, I believe I am who I am today because of Avatar. Legend of Korra is all that and more. I've been waiting for at least two years for Korra to come out, and I'm not disappointed at all with what Mike and Bryan have pumped out. Everything they've done has made it work. Honestly old fans and new fans will love it. Korra is everything fans have been waiting for.
  • F A N T A S T I C

    By Caroline Clutter
Since the success of the first series, this new series has so many expectations riding on it, and the creators have really worked to fulfill and EXCEED all of them. I really, really love this show, and there have only been two episodes released! Don't miss out, be sure to watch this show! It's fantastic, exciting, action-packed, humorous, emotionally poignant, and has a wonderful style of animation. (As well as fun easter eggs for fans of the past series!) Korra and all of its characters are wonderful. I cannot wait to see what future episodes have in store for us.

The first time I saw "Avatar: The Last Airbender", I was immediately blown away by its viscerally powerful storytelling and rich, fluent style of animation. The characters were relatable and engaging, and the story lines were meaningful and complex. But the very best part about the show was that it appealed not just to young viewers like myself, but to all age groups. So I was pretty distraught (to say the least) when the series finally came to an end. However, as soon as I heard the news that a new show based on "Avatar" would be coming to Nickelodeon in 2012, all that sadness completely melted alway. And after just watching the first two episodes of "The Legend of Korra", my anticipation was greatly rewarded. This new series takes place nearly a century after the original saga came to a close. The protagonist, Korra, is a headstrong, rebellious teenage girl who sets out on a quest to become the Avatar she was destined to be. Along the way, she must attempt to find balance between tradition and modernity, the bending and non-bending world, and within herself. With an eccentric new cast of characters, a highly improved style of animation and an invigorating uniqueness all its own, "Korra" is already on its way to becoming one of the most captivating, eye-popping and unflinchingly epic shows the animation world has ever seen. With that being said, I full-heartedly recommend purchasing the season pass. At $29.99, you can't go wrong, especially considering the fact that it's just gonna get better from this point on!
  • The Legend Begins

    By TTFN456
We've been waiting for over two and a half years for the arrival of this show, and i am glad to say that it lives up to the hype. It's a giddy reentry into the Avatar Universe where we see just how the world has changed and what new dangers lie ahead. The political and technological aspects may confound some, but they will just be minor scratches on an otherwise flawless gem of a new cartoon.
  • Korra is my New Favorite!

    By AffinityShy
I enjoyed Avatar The Last Airbender, and when I saw The Legend of Korra on iTunes, I immediately bought it. I love the Avatar series and will buy and watch all seasons! The Legend of Korra on iTunes was one of the deciding factors that pushed me to buy the new Apple TV. I love Korra!
  • wow

    By bleedred21
This is a very good direction for the avtar series to take. i was really hoping that they would come up with something new and this didn't disapoint. the bending looks better than ever, the way the world has evolved is really impressive. Hopefully it continues to improve like ATLA, if so it will be great.

Loving the show so far, but it's Monday now. Where is episode 6? I'm living on a post overseas and iTunes is our way to watch this wonderful series. You'd expect they'd have the show on time after paying for the season pass.

  • Aang is better than Korra

    By Raven's Gate
Note that I'm rating the show overall here, not just Season 1. This show has a really cool concept in a really cool world and I love that they extended the story past Avatar Aang. I also like that the characters in this spin-off are older than in the original Avatar show. And Mako is to die for. But what I really don't like about this show is the character of Korra herself. She gets worse as the show goes on, but she's a total hot-head, which causes her to make stupid, rash decisions, and it's really irritating. Aang was a way better avatar.
  • I was surprised

I was very surprised watching this. Great animation, story and characters. It is worth the buy. Good and fun.
  • Hollywood Take Notes, This is How a Sequel Should Be Done - Spoiler Free

    By A Humble Reviewer
I’ll separate this review into one for the entire series then one for Book 1. Rather than simply continue with what worked in the original series, the creators of the Avatar universe have tried and succeeded at bringing something fresh while still retaining and expanding upon the story's core mythology. When you take into account these constraints, as well as making the show appeal to new and old viewers of many ages, the job they did was beyond amazing. Kids will miss some of the adult content and adults will think some bits are too childish, but it’s surprising how most of the content appeals to all ages. You will immediately notice that Korra is older than Aang and is a girl. You will also immediately notice the setting has evolved substantially. This was a very risky move and my hat’s off to the creators. The Legend of Korra is more about world-building than an overarching storyline. Some character development has been shifted from the main characters to the side characters. All these key differences bring about many variations in the story that make it feel fresh and distinct but the original series is not forgotten. Korra is Aang’s spiritual descendant and she works with his biological descendants. Thus, there are many goodies that pay homage to the original show. The production values have skyrocketed and is an area where The Legend of Korra clearly exceeds The Last Airbender. You can really see the power of animation. A world has been created that is so rich and vibrant, a live-action film would need a ridiculous budget to try and match it. The score and the voice acting are top-notch. I highly recommend this series for new and old viewers though you really want to watch The Last Airbender first. Now onto Book 1. This book serves as a terrific introduction and transitions old viewers to the evolved setting very comfortably. The story is surprisingly complex but there’s still a lot of fun stuff like pro-bending. Enjoy the phenomenal, underrated, villain. Book 1 is not as grandiose but it doesn’t need to be. It has subtle layers that can easily be missed. It stylishly executes the very important theme of equality in a manner fitting for all ages and continues to impress right up until the very end. An easy five stars.
  • Avatar lives on!

    By Greenglovebox
The Avatar is the bridge between the human and the spirit world. This show is the bridge between TV for children and for adults. Its a fantastic tale filled with great messages. Fun for all ages with a little something for everyone. Action packed, comedy, beautiful animation.
  • Great Animated Series

    By Black Vulcan 69
I think that the Legend of Korra is one of the best American animated series of all time, and I really hope that both the creators and the network will continue exploring this rich universe. Thanks Nickelodeon for once again providing this high quality digital content to iTunes.

  • Not bad

This is different from Avatar The Last Air Bender but that doesn't mean it's horrible. It's cool to have another Avatar series and it has a good story just the first. Totally worth buying.
