I was skeptical that a kid who barely looks old enough to drive could play the Doctor, but I thought Matt did a brilliant job as the Doctor! He brings back a bit more madness to the role, a la Tom Baker-ish even. And the script for the first episode written by Stephen Moffat was excellent. The entire show had such an energy to it, you just have to grab on and hang on for the ride! If the rest of the series maintains this level of creativity and energy, I think we're going to have a wild ride.

i am usually quite happy with buying season passes off of itunes, but it is highly frustrating when an episode is supposed to be available next day post-airing, and is not. please fix this. please post Cold Blood which aired in the US on 5/29 and please work on fixing this problem in the future. thank you.

April 17th can't get here fast enough. DT will always be MY DOCTOR, but I am willing to give Matt Smith a chance. Change is hard, but inevitiable. Either way I will always want my own TARDIS. = )

After Eccleston,Then Tennant as the Doctor we were dubious that Dr Who would be able to pull it off with Matt Smith as the Doctor. We were WRONG !!!!!! Also the loss of Phil Collinson was a concern to no avail. The new Doctor Who is witty funny and absolutely brilliantly written acted and directed. We also love Amelia Pond aka Amy. She is feisty cute and a real match for the Doctor. This may prove to be the best season yet and ALL seasons have been five star seasons!!
  • Steven Moffat was the right choice

Steven Moffat wrote some of the best episodes (blink, girl in the fireplace, the library duo), so it is good they put him in charge. First episode is not his strongest work-but it is enjoyable. The new actor seems like he will do well-we will see in upcoming episodes.
  • AMAZING!!!!

I was very sorrowful that David Tennant had decided it was time to move on from the role of the Doctor. However, I am pleasantly surprised with the job that Matt Smith has done! I find him to fill the shoes of the Doctor quite well. I cannot wait for the 5th season to begin!
  • Amazing Season... Stinky itunes

The season was absolutely fantastic- a sci-fi junkee's dream come true. Yay for Steven Moffat! However, may I say I only give 5 stars to the TV show- not to itunes keeping up with it. I usually watch the episodes online when they premiere in Britain, but I buy them here, too, and what I want to know is... WHERE ARE THEY? For pity's sake, people, I can't find the poor programs on here until a WEEK after they air in the US! (Which is three weeks after the original air date for those who don't know) What is up? It took forever for Cold Blood and even longer for Vincent and the Doctor. I can't wait to see all the upset people when the FINALE isn't on here in time. Get with the Science Fiction program!!!!
  • It's BRILLIANT!!!

For everyone wondering: I'm pretty sure the next new episode, "Amy's Choice", won't air in the U.S. until June 5th, after which it will be available on iTunes. Nothing new for 05/29.

Amy's Choice aired in the UK 2 weeks ago - so - let me get this clear - an AMERICAN holiday - is going to make the season now 3 weeks behind the UK schedule, instead of 2. Thanks for pushing people to Pirate Bay. Good job!

The show is amazing. No arguing with that. Just because Matt Smith was a different Doctor than David Tennant was , doesn't mean you have to hate Matt...A true Whovian is loyal to the show, not to a certain Doctor

In the episode amy's choice, i instantly figured out that the world where amy was pregnant was the dream world because the doctor's bowtie was blue not red and every whovian knows the red bowtie with fishfingers and custard.

I absolutely loved tennett but like how we get to see a more, whats the word, darker( but sill goofy), witty, and flambouant version of the doctor as Matt Smith. Ps. Was I the only one to cry when tennett regenerated Ps(part 2). The doctors r getting younger and younger

I think Matt Smith has perfected the role of The Doctor. He's stylish, clever, funny, and confusing at times. This season is a great way to introduce the Best Doctor ever!
  • Great Season!

I'm not one too give out five star ratings willy nilly but, this is the best season since the reboot. I agree with most of these reviews. However, the hater's are unfortunate. The quality of the writing has improved and the characters are fantastic! I love D.T. (and C.E. for that matter), but his episodes were not as well written, with the exception of Moffat and certain others. R.T.D. could write great episodes, but he couldn't always get his characters out of trouble in a convincing way. Or he didn't offer an explination(Midnight, still a great episode). Moffat is the right man for the job, as he's proven with season's 6 and 7. Plus Matt Smith and the Pond's are amazing. Smith is my favorite Doctor after this season alone, and Amy is my favorite companion. Didn't Rose could be beat, but there it is. Show your none Whovian friends one of these episodes(Vincent, The Lodger, Amy's Choice...) and you'll have a brand new Whovian to hang out with. Of course any Moffat episodes in the past seasons will do just as well.(The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.Probably best to start at the beginning.).............. or Blink. ;) Enjoy this season and don't hate for dumb reasons. Come up with a good one if you really don't like it.
