Description

It's bound to be a white Christmas with this classic! From creator Charles M. Shultz and producer Bill Melendez, it's A Charlie Brown Christmas. Not only does this timeless special have the distinction of warming hearts young and old, but it has won both an Emmy® and a Peabody Award. Whether you are seeing this holiday masterpiece for the first time or the first time in years, you have doubtless heard of that ol' blockhead Charlie Brown and the little tree that could. Filled with mythology as the gang tries to put on a holiday play, kids big and small will end up with a pretty decent dance party, a lesson for the ages, and some good old-fashioned fun. As for the tree … it's amazing what a little love can do. A Charlie Brown Christmas originally aired on television on December 9th, 1965. It was later re-mastered in 2008.

If only this version included those great "Dolly Madison" Zinger commercials... And Santa sledding in a Norelco razor. Takes me back...

I thank Charles Schultz et al for this wonderful holiday gift. When it was created the Vietnam War was flaring up, and the turbulent 60's had begun but The Peanuts gang kept our focus on "Happiness is....." That in spite of all it's sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, the world is still a beautiful place. I love to watch it as offered, but for my generation it is not complete with the "CBS Special" logo swirling at the beginning, and ads for York Peppermint Patties, Mounds, and Almond Joy interspersed in commercial breaks. A cup of hot chocolate, dressed in your Dr. Denton's, with Mom's loving eye on you and your siblings made the watching of this something special. It was, and will always be, an event. Even now I cry when the kids yell, "MERRY CHRISTMAS, CHARLIE BROWN!" and sing "Hark the Herald Angels Sing." A NATIONAL TREASURE!

This is it - the one and only classic Christmas TV special! This just puts you in the Christmas mood. Excellent voice talents, story and of course, music. You cannot go wrong with this one! Would also love all the other classic TV Christmas specials, including the RARELY seen animated Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol."

That's a ton of space. I have a 32 GB iPod Touch and after this and The Grinch Who Stole Chritmas I'll be cutting it close on memory.. $10 is a bit pricey too but, just hearing the music makes you remember this movie is what represents Christmas for probably most of America. Cozying up on the couch and settling in for the night with some hot choclate and this movie is a perfect December night.

I love watching it while I wrap presants! Plus, with the iTunes version, you get three episodes. How great is that? If you miss it on TV, be sure to get it here.

Like many on here, I grew up with the tradition watching a Charlie Brown Christmas. There many reasons to tell you why I love this film, but it doesn't even compare by today's standards. I loved how they involved Christ and his birth without the "changes" to benefit everyone else but the Christian's. All within a respectful and humble manner; something of which are extremely rare. Thank you iTunes for adding this to your library! Can't wait to see more! Merry Christmas! πŸŽ„πŸŒŸ

I'm 35. I grew up on the reruns of this movie back when I was a small boy. So many beautiful memories growing up with this movie inside as it snowed during the holidays. What a joy it has always been to be able to watch a film that brings everything back to the basics of why we celebrate Christmas. This is a five-star holiday classic that should not only failed to be missed but one that should be regarded as an absolute classic. Author Joel Krupa

Many years later, I am still a huge fan of Charlie Brown and will always be. There is a good lesson where Linus tells Charlie Brown about what Christmas is all about. Good to watch with your kids.

What the heck iTunes! Who wrote the summary for this American classic? Maybe you need to consult Wikipedia or IMDB for a more accurate description. "Filled with mythology…" Blah blah blah. It icontains a pivotal story from the Bible-- the reason why Christmas is called what it is. This isn't Greek mythology. The themes are materialism, love, something wonderful coming from humble beginnings. Sheesh!
