  • Beautiful!

    By Nick_McGuire
Looking at nature - I see it as God's creation. Every living thing, every animal, every plant, every being... And just watching these truly gives me a sence of Peace - A sence of quietness... Most shows nowdays...they don't do that. So much of television is loud, noisy, or much of the time even full of imaturity or immorality. But this is different! I like this and I'm glad something it has become as popular as is. Who knows... If more of television contained shows like these, perhaps the world would be a little more peaceful.
  • Best non-fiction ever! And in HD!

    By Dave41195
This is probably the only show that I would buy the entire season of. Completely flawless and spectaculer. You don't want to miss a second of this. Buy the whole thing in HD. It's expensive, but you won't regret it.
  • Fantastic!

    By Nicksumus
These are awesome. There is no doubt about it. I am actually willing to spend this much money on all of them. My favorite is the deep ocean one and this one part on the "Seasonal Forests" one (I think) where the ducks jump from the tree. Defianatly purchace these.
  • Simply Amazing

    By emily1406
I got this gifted to me for Christmas and I spent a day watching the entire thing! Every single episode is worth watching, and worth paying for. In each episode something unique happens; baby ducks jump from a tree to fly for the first time; new life-forms were discovered down in the ocean where the sun doesn't penetrate the darkness... Every scene is breathtaking and I highly recommend this!

I loaded some episodes on to my new ipod to watch in bed before I go to sleep. The music, along with the incredible scenery is a great way to relax before drifting off. It literally takes your mind to places that it could never go. Certainly makes for a restful sleep and some great dreams. Also makes me realize the majesty of God. Experiencing nature is a beautiful, spiritual experience. Thanks to our Creator and the creators that captured this beauty on film for all to enjoy.
  • better on blueray

    By thumper_uk
This is a stunning seris but is lost on itunes , its far better and cheaper to buy the complete box set in blueray and watch it on your large hd tv , then you can see how stunning it is and have the complete seris and not just a part of it , in europe it retails at 39 euros for 10 blueray discs :) but if you cant buy it then this is the next best way to get it
  • Too bad no extras

    By Steve in Massachusetts
Excellent, but it is unfortunate that the "Diaries" featurettes were not included.
  • Planet Earth = exhilarating

Planet Earth takes my breath away every time I watch it. I am so happy it's available on iTunes and I was just about to buy it. I have a question though... does anyone know if the exotic bird section is on the 'Jungle' episode? I really want that portion. Thanks in advance!
  • fantastic!!!

i LOVE planet earth and u should totally buy this: its really relaxing to watch if ur just sitting on the couch with some popcorn. i wouldn't buy it for ur ipod though, cause u might need a bigger screen: the price is i great though: usually its $50! but don't buy it for ur ipod, might be a dissapointment. EVEN FOR THE IPOD, BUY THE CAVES EPISODE - BEST ONE, and if ur gonna buy only 1, i TOTALLY RECOMMEND

  • A Masterpiece of a BBC Nature Documentary

    By Ollie E. Knox
Planet Earth is a worthy documentary series that looks at the animals and plants in remote areas and the ever-changing ecosystems that look prone to collapse in the near future. The camera work is truly breathtaking with amazing wonders captured on film of areas that remain unspoiled by human domination. This nature documentary series aims to use technology never used for nature programs before to take us into these wildernesses and see the environment within them and the creatures that live there. Each episode shows very captivating descriptions of this habitat and the animals that live there. Highly recommended for animal lovers, fans of David Attenborough and naturalists everywhere!
  • nice visuals, low on facts

    By dr.terwilliker
The imagery is very nice but I finish an episode wondering what I learned. Seems to have a repetitive theme of look at the nice place... here are animals killing each other there... here is another nice place and more animals killing each other.
  • Attenborough is the best!

    By woodc
Its crazy how hard it is to find good documentaries on itunes but this is worth purchasing to watch over and over. Excelent value. Also, cant wait for Planet Earth II to come out, hope they dont make us wait too long and especially hope they continue to give us the origional version with David Attenborough, no watered down version made for the US market!
  • Must watch

    By Beeewhiz
Nature & documentary lovers this is a must watch. Attenborough is simply the best and one of a kind.
  • No Sigourney Weaver! :(

    By MG311
Such an breathtaking serious, but I wish they had the US Discovery Channel Edition narrated by Sigourney Weaver. I don’t like this guys voice.
  • Amazing!!

    By Cirrus99
Best documentary ever! It can get a little slow at times, but is still incredible. I didn't want to at first, but, even though it's expensive, the HD version is beautiful, and I would recommend getting it. And for those of you asking, the narrator is David Attenborough, the original narrator. I would much rather have him than Sigourney Weaver.
  • Best documentary ever, but...

    By freeheeler
The HD version looks absolutely terrible on a 60" LCD TV. Looks terrible on a 27" iMac, for that matter. What gives?
  • Great for Small Kids

    By snmaustin
My 3.5 year old and 2 year old LOVE THIS SERIES! Very well done!
  • So good!

    By iBigChill
I love this series! Just buy it.
  • Where is Sigourney Weaver?????

    By Everbane37
I spent a very long time searching for the version on blue-ray narratted by Sigourney Weaver, she has by far the better narratting voice for this series, and she was also the original narrattor for the series when it first premiered on TV (in america, dont know about elsewhere), i refuse to buy this without her narrating it, and am dissapointed that i cannot find it on iTunes. A good visual experience ruined by a narrator who sounds like a droning history teacher.
