I'm not prone to writing reviews on here but as soon as I saw Batman: The Animated Series here I had to chime in. This is a fantastic series. Not just a good animated series it is a genuinely good dramatic series. This is the best on screen adaptation of the Dark Knight Detective. The series balanced the action and detective aspects of the character in ways the movies have yet to even get near. A consistently enjoyable watch regardless of your age.
  • Not a Cartoon but one of the Best Animated Shows ever made.

When this series came out in the early 90's it was so well done.I taped every episode on my VCR.Even though it was made for kids the stories were intelligent and at times very poignant.Adults will respect that the storylines are not "dumbed down".The animation is awesome.Designed to go for a 20's Art-Deco look the producers took great pains to ensure quality with style. As I said before a number of these stories would be wonderful as actual live-action movies(and are a hell of a lot better than some of the later Batman movies).Favorites in this set are:Pretty Poison,Two-Face(Parts I &II),Feat of Clay(Parts I & II),Beware the Gray Ghost, Mad as a Hatter,Dreams in Darkness, and most of all Heart of Ice( the sad origin of Mr.Freeze).One Caution: I would only buy from the first 3 seasons. After season 4 I found the quality of the series nose-dived every way.

As one of the composers on the show, I'm really glad to finally see it on iTunes. Of course, my favorite is "Almost Got 'Im." --Stuart Balcomb

Wow! I remember waking up early saturday mornings and getting home from school just to watch this cartoon on FOX kids! It was actually the best cartoon series behind X-MEN and SPIDER-MAN on fox. Not these crappy renditions of the shows they got now. This is CLASSIC television for us 90's kids. WELL DONE iTUNES!

  • Missing the true Batman: The Animated Series intro

Seeing the first episode really brought back memories of rushing home to watch Batman; I'm looking forward to watching the rest. I did notice, however, that the opening and closing of the episode are much newer, they're from the late 90s Batman and combines Batman and Superman, while the main work itself is from '92~. For me, seeing the crooks try to rob the bank, watching the super-long Batmobile superimposed on the screen, and watching Batman swoop into action is an integral part of the Batman experience. For this, I am only giving it 4 stars.

The best animated series ever. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill give career defining performances as Batman and The Joker respectively. This series could have gone on forever considering how fresh the stories still were by the end of it's run. Also notable is the fact that Kevin Conroy has logged more time as The Batman than any other actor. This is why most regard him as the difinitive Batman. An absolutely amazing series. If you've never seen Batman: The Animated Series, you really haven't seen Batman. Even the worst episode here puts the two Schumacher movies to shame. Even the Clock King and the Sewer King episodes (and they're pretty bad).

The original animated version is the best! Please, where is The New Batman Adventures and Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, Batman: The Killing Joke?

Awesome show, just wish they wouldn't have changed the classic opening.

I am starting to get into the show. It's supposed to be a great show, lots of people have written good reviews here on Itunes. Batman and Robin are great heros! I have researched some of the villans from this version of the show on Google. Some of the villans are scary, but not all of them. The one thing I did not like was the animation. A fun hero villan show for kids and adults!

I have never seen an animated series on Batman or any other character that has done a better job than these right here!! More than 20 years later I'm still watching these episodes/adventures that have captivated, shaped and molded young minds for millions of young fans. The writers, directors, and actors are deserve high marks for creating such a masterpiece time after time.
