UNBELIEVABLE!!! This is a must have for any proud American. The men & women involved in this mini-series are "TRUE" American heroes! Their guts & courage are unmatched. If you are not nervous & hanging on every word......you don't have a pulse! Gary Sinise does a marvelous job of narrating this beautiful documentary.

I could not agree more with what has been said so far about this program. Riveting, powerful, and never boring, this program really hits the mark...

I thought this show was one of the best shows about space I have ever seen. I watch a lot of Discovery Channel shows and think this is one of the very best.
  • One of the finest documentaries of NASA...

This series greatly depicts the history of NASA's human space-flight program. The footage they dug up for this was phenomenal, things many have never seen. It was also nice to see it in a higher quality. This series is also good because it tries to leave out bias and criticism especially in-regards to Russia.

A truly amazing look at the origins and life of NASA and the American missions in Space. Lots of scenes that I had never seen before, along with great interviews of many of those involved. I cannot recommend this series highy enough. A great lesson for Americans, young and old.

I consider this one of the most comprehensive documentaries of the Space Program. It touches the human side of the space exploration and the technological advances. A must-watch series!!

What a fantastic series. Each and every episode is fascinating. This is a reminder of what America was capable of. As our country endures it's present day problems, including the most corrupt political leadership of the past century, it is refreshing to look back and remember JFK, NASA, and the pride that was America- a people that could and would reach the stars!
  • We Choose to go to the moon...

In 1961, with only twenty minutes of spaceflight experience, President John F. Kennedy sets an ambitious goal to land a man on the moon and return him safely to the earth within 9 years. It took many people all around the world to achieve that goal. On July 20, 1969, Astronaut Neil Armstrong uttered "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind" and became the first human to set foot on another celestial body. This is that story. How we got into space, traveled to the moon and what came after.

If you know nothing about NASA history, this series is an okay primer. It's the approved NASA version, racing you through the space race without a whole lot of detail or controversy or questions. Still, you'll get the basics, and there's a lot of nice footage, and it's a reminder of what America was like in the can-do glory days before we gave up on the whole idea of manned space exploration. If you like this version you may want to move on to documentaries and books that tell these stories in finer detail and more in context with the Soviet program, which gets almost no play here.

These are very well done and accurate documentaries. The subject matter is so interesting you won't want to stop watching it. The video is historic and amazing. The Redstone and Titan rockets are mezmerizing, but watching the Saturn Five launching the Apollo missions, is just mind boggling. And the courage of the pioneers who risked their lives to ride them. I started with the first two episodes and was so impressed I bought all but one. I will be getting that one soon. You won't be disappointed with this documentary series. Worth every penny to have in your library.
  • Excellent! The best space program show ever!

This show has footage possibly never seen before. I remember growing up as a kid when the Apollo program was in full swing - for every Apollo launch the teacher would wheel the T.V. into the class and we would watch every moment of them! The music and everything is excellent! I highly recommend to anyone who likes almost anything about 'space.' There's nothing like hearing the Saturn V launch!

This by far is the best TV sieres I've ever run across, and is always worth going back to watch again and again. It's too bad they don't have more episodes, I would watch all of them!

I love this TV series. Sometimes I find myself too caught up watching comedy TV shows and it's nice to take a break from the mind-numbing entertainment and be intrigued by history. As an airplane enthusiast, space shuttles and all other flying things send chills down my spine. I would recommend this for everyone...it's interesting and educational. Plus, it gives insight into a time that I don't know much about since I'm only 23. It's amazing to get a grasp of what life was like during the Cold War and the romantic Space Race!
  • Amazing show!!!

I found this show very informative and enjoyable to watch. It is a wonderful blend of history and eye candy. I don't usually spend money on purchasing historical shows, but for this, I had to make an exception. Five stars all the way!!!
