Season 1 of Supernatural is classic. That said, the iTunes versions have changed the music associated with a lot of scenes. In addition, scenes have been edited slightly - bits cut out here and there. Unless you're really jonezin' for Supernatural on your iPod, stick to the DVDs.

the only reason i'm giving this a good rating is because the show is still amazing. for it's superb acting, wonderful art direction, and incredible story telling. however,
why change one of the best parts of one of the best shows on television? it's stupid, and not a good way to increase sales. whoever changed it needs to be fired immediately. there is a good chance i will not buy any of these episodes because they have been changed for the worse.
Best show out there!!

It's scary, funny, sarcastic, and loving..everything combined into each episode. It's the best, and frankly the most underrated, show currently on TV. If you like a good sense of humor, a brotherly relationship that makes you want to go, "Aww...", the paranormal, or just a good scare, this is the show for you. I mean, psh, what else could be better than 2 hot brothers killing all these dangerous "creatures in your closet" that are apparantly real :)
This show also knows its stuff. A lot of the stuff in Supernatural is real. From the lure on monsters they fight, to how they're killed (but soluted down for safety purposes of course). So theres a good excuse to tell your parents, "Its educational!" :)
And although I love this show, I hate what iTunes has done to the music!!! The once enjoyable classic rock that goes along with the show perfectly has either been taken off or changed. the 5 stars is merely due to the show itself.

Supernatural is one of those rare television series that has managed to capture action similar to that of movies, great horror sequences, raw emotion, bust-a-gut humor in good dosage, and an original plot with ever deepening character developments that make Sam and Dean more and more realistic in their uncommonly strong brotherly bond all in one go. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have chemistry on camera most people only dream about and portray their characters' unspoken but unshakable need for each other with true skill and perfect emotion. Fans all over have come to love the duo's brotherly banter and can actually feel the tension between the two Winchester's when arguments abound. The acting is just phenomenal. Season One was a terrific first glimpse, because that's what it is: a first glimpse, into the world of monsters, demons, ghosts, and evil that Supernatural captures so well, but I'm sad to say that iTunes has chosen to remove one of the dynamics that made us fall in love with the show. Classic songs fans have come to know and love, even associate specifically with certain scenes, have been edited out. For this reason, I recommend buy the Season One DVD for the show's full affect, but even without the signature tunes, Supernatural's plot line is still one of the best and definitely worth watching.

Emotional rollercoaster! I was so excited to see this up, and now am completely disappointed to find it's not the show I've watched over and over. Editing is one thing but completely removing signature songs is quite sad. Even with the modified soundtrack, however, the show is exemplary and completely worth watching.

The first season is great but since iTunes changed the music from the original
DVD then this is a very disappointing purhcase. iTunes store should tell users
in the product description that this is different then the original DVD series

they aren't really hunters, they are the 2 brothers who help other people buy getting rid specific types of demons, depends on certain types of deals or something like that, what im saying is that the whole show is about the 2 brothers (Sam: tall black hair AND Dean: the annoying comedy one) finding out who killed their mother.... cant tell you more unless you watch this on CW channel good luck...

This is one of the most under rated shows on television at the moment. It gives off the same scifi/thriller feel that Lost does, only the episodes are much more consistent and with only two main characters, it is much easier to follow. Don't get me wrong, the starting plot may seem somewhat simplistic or even cliched (brothers hunting their mothers killer) but unexpected plot twists, the introduction of new characters, and uncovered truths keep this show interesting and fullfilling. And yes, it does star two undeniably hot male actors, but the point is that they can actually act. Its not another tv show where the only reason for watching is an eye candy. Its a refreshing change to watch two attractive yet talented actors, acting on a show with substance.
