The best ever... I mean it... Watch it. Now.
This is the best SF series ever (yes even better than Battlestar Galactica).
Full of heart and soul, you will fall in love with these characters and yearn for more. After this you can go watch the movie which sorta concludes the saga... for now :)
The order iTunes is listing the series is wrong. The correct order is:
2. "The Train Job"
6. "Our Mrs. Reynolds"
8. "Out of Gas"
10. "War Stories"
12. "The Message"
13. "Heart of Gold"
14. "Objects in Space"
Download, Rearrange, Watch and Repeat!
Kudos to Fox for finally hopping on board and bringing some definite classics to their selection. In summary, these episodes are out of order. Online you should be able to find a correct episode listing. After you rearrange them, watch and you'll be hooked and wanting more. Fortunately you can follow up with Serenity (or if you already have seen Serenity back peddle and watch these "prequels" that I believe to be far better then another famous trilogy of "prequels" regarding space...). I highly reccomend this series, not to mention the first one and half hour episode is only a couple bucks. Give it a try, it's the only thing in this store that has inspired me to post my first customer review that you have just finished reading... now.
Amazing, simply underrated
Firefly is one of the only shows on TV ever to have been cancelled and then gain more fans. Quite simply amazing cast, stories, direction, writing, EVERYTHING!!
You won't be sorry!
Firefly is an excellent show that had a lot going for it. I can't believe it only lasted one season. It had a great cast, humorous dialogue, and action-packed stories. Serenity is the movie that was made to conclude the series and its main plot. It is one of my favorite movies. This is coming from a guy who doesn't sit in the dark mumbling lines from Star Wars. Firefly is just a good, fun show that appeals to everyone.
5 stars is not enough! Stupid Fox for killing One of the best shows
By Neon Coyote
This is a great Series. The critics loved it, the fans loved it but FOX was too stupid to realize what they had with it. They took a chance with Buffy and it's a classic, but they blew it on this. If you liked the Movie Serenity, you will LOVE this series. Worth EVERY penny (though sad to see fox getting any of it) ;-)
Episodes out of sequence
The episodes are out of sequence. It should go in this order: Serenity, Train Job, Bushwacked, Shindig, Safe, Our Mrs. Reynolds, Jaynestown, Out of Gas, Ariel, War Stories, Trash, The Message, Heat of Gold, Objects in Space.
If all TV shows were as good as Firefly, I'd never stop watching it!
It's a witty, funny, smart, and character driven show that is unlike anything else out there. I'm usually not a big fan of sci-fi TV shows, so if I enjoyed it, I think most non-sci-fi fans would be able to enjoy it as well.
No power in the Verse can stop Firefly...
Probably the best television series never seen. Firefly has built such a following that it has attained cult status. Superb writing, directing and acting, the likes of which are hard to find in television programming today.
Highly recommended by 'Browncoats', (loyal fans) everywhere. Firefly features one of the most entertaining and easily likable casts ever assembled.
If you've never seen any of this...please, do yourself a favor and try it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Just watch one episode, and you'll see, this show is worth every penny, and every moment of time. Forget the fact that it was short lived in broadcast. This is one of those shows that'll get you smiling after a difficult day. This is one of those shows that'll get you wanting more. Fortunately, there is a movie available also. Now I can travel with it on the ipod too!!
What TV should be!
I had reservations about watching this show when it aired on Sci Fi this summer, but a friend insisted I give it a try. Some friend! Now, I'm addicted!
Firefly can be watched on MANY levels. You can watch purely for fun, and it is that (more funny than most comedies), but you can also watch for interpersonal story arcs, and even better, for amazing insights into the human condition. It is quite simply a masterpiece of storytelling, with characters and situations that are timeless.
This show aired originally back in 2002, and it is AMAZING to see how many current shows have borrowed extensively from it. For example, Lost's flashback technique is perfected in an episode (won't say which one, don't want to spoil!).
Do yourself a favor, get this. This is of the few shows that also holds up well to repeat viewings. In fact, you will find little nuggets that you miss, little treasures to uncover with repeat watching. And you WILL watch. Repeatedly. Trust me.
