This show isn’t even out and it’s getting bad reviews. Might be sexism....

I have been a sci-fi fan for the past 35 years. I have watched many white, male doctors (some better than others!) and am looking forward to Dr. Who through the eyes of a lead female character. To the haters, women love science fiction and women can play a lead role. To those who can't stand the idea of Dr. Who as a female Time Lord, how exactly can you believe in time travel, multiple galaxies, the plethora of creatures and villans, the timey wimey science, and not have an open mind on gender in a thousand year old alien species from another planet? Open your mind, and your heart, and enjoy the ride!

I can’t WAIT to see this new Doctor, and know that she’ll help usher in a new era for the show, the fans, and do honor to her predecessors.

It’s worth investing in! If you’re at all suspicious, wait for the first episode or just get the season in Standard Definition. What’s the risk in that? They Are Trying Something New. It wouldn’t have been my choice, but we saw it coming when they introduced Missy and Bob. It’s not unbelievable in the universe they’ve created for the Doctor. You could argue it cheapens the show by appearing to align with changing political views and attitudes, but we don’t know that. We DO know they are are trying something new to show the nearly limitless possibilities of a being that is over 2000 years old may have.

As a mom of a ten year old boy who wants to see this season's doctor who I just worry about what message the show is trying to send. I mean the girl power is there and the guys are all scared betas. I mean it really under the radar male hating. Just little things. I won't have a problem with it if it was "equal" back and forth banter between the sexies. But it is all one sided. I do like Ryan Sinclair character he is at least a seems braver then the other men. I get people want to make strong female leads. (And doctor who has had strong women from the begining nothing new) I people want strong female characters for little girls but does it have to come at a price for little boys to not have strong male characters. Can't we have both. Plus can't the banter be even between the two not just one sided. I mean me and my brother use to pick at each other all the time. I say boys drool girls rule and he say the oppoiste. It wasn't I make a joke about him and he'd let it slide.

While I believe the thirteenth doctor has a lot of potential, the direction of this show has changed for the worse. The stories are boring and the Doctor has yet to really “do” anything. Where’s the excitement, the climactic story lines, the great soundtrack? I am really down on this season.
  • Half Way through and....

So Season 11 is halfway through and. It is really underwealming, bordering on disappointing. I love the fact they were confident in casting a female doctor and I really do love Jodi's Doctor. I think she's doing a fantastic job! My problem with this series, is everyone else. The directing, the writing, the cinematography, the extras, everything is just sort of off par. I really hope the series picks up but until then, this season is turning out to be a dud.
  • Political correctness run amok

What made Dr. Who an exciting show is still there, suspense, lots of running, weird bad guys. But what is lacking is also apparent. Lack of clever writing, the episodes especially "Rosa" is too preachy. They are trying too hard to be multicultrual and politically correct. They need to go back to the format of using alien worlds and alien situations that reflect upon our society's ills. Instead of time traveling on Earth to demonstrate multiculturalism. As to the new Dr. Who, well I can think of many better actresses (in my opinion she should had been older) instead what they gave us was a Dr. Who that is more like a football/soccer mom. I rthink this Dr Who will be regenerating after this season unless the politically correct studio insists on another season despite dropping viewership.
  • Horrible

This used to be a great show but has been in rapid decline over the past two seasons. Now with the new everything (down to the writers), maybe it needs to take another break for a couple decades.
  • The First female Dr has been hobbled by PC..

    2
    By Bodalenko
I was expecting great things from Jodie but after 4 episodes its clear that PC has hobbled her performance and made her just look plain silly, and thats asides her silly wardrobe. She's a woman for petes sake, why is it wrong for her to act and appear like one? The 3 companions, all ticking the necessasry PC boxes, idea is a total failure and NONE have the personality of Pond, Rory, Rose or Clara. The 3 of them coyuld be sucked in to the vacuum of space and nobody would care! Sorry but he new direction is a step in the wrong direction..
  • Brand new era of Doctor Who done right

Watching season 11 of Doctor Who gives me that same feeling I had when I just started season 5 with Matt Smith. Great changes with promising futures. Jodie Whittaker does an amazing job in her role as The Doctor, and I very much look forward to see what this new era of Doctor Who has to offer.
  • Classic Who for the modern era

This season has been wonderful! They’ve been bringing back what classic who always did—history episodes that teach, and Monster of the Week style episodes. The new Doctor is just as full of the goofy enthusiasm as the best of them—Jodie is doing a great job, and her Doctor is easily one of my favorites.
