Steve Carell (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) stars in this sitcom based on Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's award-winning comedy. Told through the lenses of a documentary film crew, The Office exposes the humorous and often foolish events at Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. In this first season, Dunder-Mifflin Regional Manager, Michael Scott (Carell) leads the documentary team and his staff on a journey through inappropriate behavior, well-intentioned but misguided comments and a myriad of poor management techniques. Michael has no clue that his employees can barely tolerate him. In his mind, he is their guru, their mentor, and their cool friend. His staff includes his dedicated-to-the-point-of-annoying assistant, Dwight Schrute, office receptionist Pam, and likable sales rep Jim. During the six episodes of Season 1, Dunder-Mifflin tackles tough subjects including company layoffs, diversity initiatives, health care, and office alliances. Anyone who has ever worked in a "team" environment can appreciate the humor and suffering of the Dunder-Mifflin staff and The Office.

  • Corporate Angst, American Style

    By Ravelgrane
Unlike the canned humor of shows like Drew Carey, this program is full of jokes that fall flat, desperate boredom, irony and angst. And it is fantastic. It is an attempt to protray the hell we all have to endure in our daily jobs. Though I feel at times it tries to be too much like the British original, it still comes off as a hilarious voyeuristic adventure in the land of corporate limbo. Steve Carrell is wonderful as the cloying and clueless boss. The rest of the cast are well-chosen too. I recommend this to anyone who has to work for The Man.
  • Diversity Day

    By Gobias
All together this entire cast is funny. The characters that have the funniest lines and deliver them perfectly are Michael Scott( Steve Carrell) Regional Manager of Dunder Mifflin and his suck up co-worker Dwight K. Shrute(Rainn Wilson) the Assistant to the Regional Manager. Dwights annoyed coworker Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) finds new ways to annoy Dwight. In season one the plot lines are more about Scott, Shrute and Halpert. Season two includes more of the supporting cast. This show is hilariouis with funny writing and a new way of filming that isnt seen very often. The Office is definately a show that will please any viewer. I highly recommend the episodes "Diversity Day" and "Basketball".
  • This Show Seriously Needs to be an Hour.

I love my Powerbook. I love iTunes. I love The Office. I love watching The Office, in iTunes, on my Powerbook. A day does not pass that I do not take the time to watch some episodes in succession. They do not get old, and I continually pick up mannerisms and line delivery that I previously missed, all the while laughing hysterically. I hate watching T.V. but I always have 9:30 pm marked on Thursday. If you ever have a horrible day just tell yourself, "At least I'm not Dwight Schrute"
  • My Favorite show!

This show is extremely funny, I laugh outloud while watching it by myself, the silent moments and the looks the employees give Michael (Steve C.) are priceless. And what about the office romances, who can't wait for something to happen between Pam and Jim!? When will one of them crack!!!
  • WOW!

Steve Carell takes The Office to a whole new level and reinvents that main character from the British version. This is absolutely the funniest s__t I've seen on TV. The first season sticks a bit too closely to the British version, but the second seasons loosens up and knows no bounderies. They just go all the way!
  • Fresh!

Great and refreshing comedy! Wonderful intro into the lives of the Dunder Mifflin group...and it only gets better from here. If you haven't seen this
  • One of the Classics

    By boydrum
This show hasn't even been on the air for 4 months and is already a classic. The whole concept is brilliant, life at an office. That almost sounds as boring as Seinfeld's concept, a show about nothing. I guess watching comedic actors act out a boring person's life is "in," I'm just happy as long as it keeps me laughing.
  • Hilarity at its finest

    By MrCoolguy
This show is absolutley brilliant. I love the BBC office too, but this one strikes a little closer to home. All the characters are absolutly hilarious. One of the funniest shows on television.

Okay, now that that's out of the way... The Office is the best thing to happen to American television since Arrested Development. There is just no comparing it to other "sitcoms" out there. It's so real and so... awkward at times, it totally rings true with what real life is like. Yet, it's so much funnier than real life... You won't be disappointed.
  • This is Awesome!
