  • lower your expectations

this film does not compare to either the Swedish nor the American version. 1 star to the scavengers that tried. both the earlier versions, the trilogy and the single (American) version, are better quality and more cohesive.
  • Nothing like book

    By emeralddreams
If you loved the book, don’t waste your time. I should have known better. I hope they come out with a Swedish version.

Terrible. Wish I could get a refund. I liked the original films, the Swedish version with cc’s. This is God awful. Don’t waste your money.
  • Waste of money.

The preview has all the best parts. Too bad the rest of the 2 hr movie is junk.
  • suspenseful and interesting

despite negative reviews about the Americanization of the novel, Claire Foy plays an awesome role and there are plenty of twists in the plot to keep the viewer on edge.
  • Just lame

The trailer summed up the movie quite well. Not worth the watch.

  • Unbelievably Unbelievable

    By SeattleMoose
Just another of a long string of Feminist "strong woman" movies that are rolled out in obvious ignorance of facts and believability. And of yea, lots of "evil white men". Another trademark of this type of rubbish.
  • What a load of crap

    By MarkyRnB
I so wanted to like this movie. Huge fan of the books and movies. But....Incoherent storyline, poor acting. Claire Foy can’t decide if she’s still the queen with her poor accent and frequent slips. A distant 3rd in her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander. And that’s being generous. Loved her in the Royals. She fails here. Simply cannot compare her Lisbeth to Noomi Rapace or Rooney Mara’s. Blomqvist and Erica are millennial caricatures of the characters they are supposed to be portraying. Don’t waste your time with this one.
  • DO NOT BUY !!! (ARCHY 13)

    By Archy13
IF ANYTHING RENT. This movie is so far from the original story. The action is great. But trying to replace Daniel Craig was a joke. I thik this was the biggest problem with the movie. If you saw the previous movie, you know she was a child of the state. That's hard to do whan you have a living sister and dad. Which just shows the inability to merge the two. This was a hack of a sequel. ALSO, I DOWNLOADED IT 3 TIMES, HOWEVER, IT DIDN'T MATTER. It shows the movie being almost 3 hrs. long; BUT THERE IS ALMOST AN HOUR OF NOTHING!!! JUST 54MIN. OF BLACK SCREEN. IT'S WAS SO BAD, I ASKED FOR A REFUND. I DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS MORE? BUT SO FAR, APPLE DIDN'T HAVE ANY ANSWERS.
  • Another American Attempt

    By Valkrys
Like the Dragon Tattoo movie, with Mara in the lead role, with Daniel Craig, this is another film with American ideals not relevant to the written characters. The trilogy with Noomi Rapace is much truer to the form from the novels. I'm hoping the Swedes do the 4th movie with the original cast, rather than let the Americans keep their half baked film. As a movie with action in mind (the Hollywood stereo-type, as they cannot seem to get away from this sort of thing) the only character in the film anywhere close to the Swede films is the lead character, but even then, they overplay their hand. She plays the role as if she is Chuck Norris, rather than the tough, street smart, hacker queen Noomi plays. A good movie, but not great. And typical of Hollywood to skip the second and third installments to the series.
  • Well Done and Worth Seeing

    By echols108
I was a little skeptical about how this movie would turn out when I first saw the trailer. I wasn't sure how Claire Foy would do with this character. I was a big fan of Sony's rendition of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and was hoping Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara would have been able to do a trilogy. But, I have to say that I thoroughly ENJOYED THIS MOVIE from BEGINNING TO END! Claire Foy was amazing and I thought all the characters we've come to know and love in this story were WELL CAST in this new movie. Yes, the previous SONY rendition of TGWTDT was packed with high level, well known actors and the soundtrack was amazing, but this new movie DESERVES TO BE SEEN. Don't let the Rotten Tomatoes score dissuade you. It was a fun, interesting and enjoyable movie.
  • Better then James Bond

    By Armyof1979
Saw this today in the theater. Have to saw I was impressed. Had the whole James Bond 007 female version, reminded me of the plot in “watch dogs”, the video game. The while story was like a female version of James Bond. Very well directed and filmed. 10/10 wont disappoint.
  • A fresh intepretation of the characters

    By mgs100
So glad I was able to see this at the cinema but sorry I waited till the very last the end of the film, I wanted to see it again, but couldn't. Now I'm waiting for it to be released digitally or on disc. I really appreciated the international casting - an English-speaking version with an authentic Swedish feel. Yes, this film departed from the original books and even the one on which it was based. But I thought it was a fresh and engaging interpretation. For me the plot was compelling, the acting and directing superb, and my attention was focused throughout. I chose to base my opinion on the merits of this film alone rather than making a comparison with the others. Claire Foy is a remarkable and talented actress showing a great range in her abilities (compare her work in The Crown, Unsane and this film). I hope the studio will see past the critics reviews and consider a sequel. I appreciate all the work that went into the making of this film.
  • Couldn’t leave well enough alone?

Trash movie! First one was spectacular, the sequel feels like too much forced moral messaging.
  • Count on Sony

    By Rahcoon
You can always count on Sony to follow their standard video game formula. I am extremely disappointed by this one , nothing original, all the characters were touched-up for public consumption. All the scenes were similar to popular Sony video games like Metal Gear Solid, basically recycled content. Can I get a refund?
  • Not entertaining

    By AcuWeb
Not engaging or entertaining. It starts out with some promise and degrades from there.
