I like it. But I think they focus only on Freddy. THIS MOVIE SHOULD HAVE FOCUSED MORE ON THE BAND(also I get best actor but BEST PICTURE. The Oscar raters are crazy. CONFIRMED)
  • Excellent Movie!

I grew up listening to Queen, so when this movie came out in the theaters I had to see it! Matter of fact, I watched it twice in theater! Rami Malek's protrayal of Freddie Mercury was brilliant. In addition, the casting of all the Queen band members was amazing. The chameleon-like performances of all the actors took me back in time and truly captured the band's chemistry. The influence of Brian May and Roger Taylor enabled "queenies" like myself to fall in love with Freddie and the band all over again. Bravo to May and Taylor for keeping Freddie's legacy, Bohemian Rhapsody, alive for today's generation.

One for the most entertaining movies I’ve seen in a long time. Can’t say I was much of a fan of Queen prior to watching this. I am now!
  • It's nothing special, just ok

Just your typical musician biopic that has been done so many times by now. The only thing here that's worthy of an Oscar it will be Malek's performance. The film itself it's just ok. It's has nothing special about it. It's just another formulaic Hollywood biopic. I don't care if you like how during one scene they are arguing and out of nowhere something comes up with a bass riff, or a percussive idea. It's stupid and we've seen this countless of times already. And let's not talk about the editing because my god, it's atrocious. There's one particular scene and the cuts are between 1 - 2 seconds. How is this nominated for Best Picture and Best Achievement in Film Editing is beyond me. So yeah, it's just another biopic we've seen before, except the band is Queen. I adore Queen and their music. The film only appears to rely on nostalgia and that isn't a bad thing; but the film should have tried to get rid off the typical Hollywood formula in biopics and provide us with something fresh and unique because quite frankly, the film had nothing unique or fresh. It's not worthy of a Best Picture nor Best Achievement in Film Editing nomination. 6/10

This is by far one of the most amazing films I have seen. The cinematography was absolutely outstanding and the live performance were breathtaking! Rami puts on an amazing performance as Freddie. But the rest of the cast also played their roles beautifully!
  • I don’t think Freddy Mercury would have a problem with this

A Queen Biopic is an Oscar juggernaut! And for all means it’s because of how Morality telltale it was! Granted it wasn’t accurate enough but could you accurately tell Mercury’s story again, I think not!!!

I loved this movie, it was continuously engaging with great performances. Love how all the “bad movie” reviews have poor grammar. Liberties were taken but that’s the movie biz. If you’re a queen fan, this movie won’t disappoint.

This is quite possibly one of the best films I’ve ever seen. Beautifully acted, cleverly crafted and most of all, a stunning tribute to one of the greatest entertainers to ever walk this planet. The whole cast is superb, not just Rami Malek who indeed gives the performance of a lifetime. Powerful and poignant this film makes you feel a full spectrum of emotions but most importantly is very forgiving and respectful to the Queen himself, Freddie Mercury. I would have gave this ten stars if I could have!

Uninteresting as a movie can be. I was a teenager in the 70’s and was looking forward to this film, although I was not a Queen fan per se, I appreciated the music and showmanship. This film is almost in the “B” movie category. Terrible script, slow bland timing and pace, mediocre acting at best. The concert shots were unrealistic. Too bad. Ramek is a decent actor, but to win a Golden Globe, come on! Best Pic nomination and best actor for an Oscar?! No way.

Alright listen up. Who cares if it’s not entirely factual. Blow me if you expect all movies to all be historically accurate. This movie is nonstop excitement and the ending scene is just phenomenal
  • An average movie for a great band

To state clearly, the acting in this movie from rami malek is really outstanding. The final twenty minutes of the film is also a great recreation of the rite aid concert. Having said that this movie has three glaringly bad problems. 1. This is possibly the most cliche movie to be released in years. There is not one cliche in this movie about a music group you have not seen somewhere else. This can be ignored though and still be enjoyed on its own. But, 2. There is a huge lack of actual music performances in this movie, and when you get a great character study musical like a Star is born in the same year as this film. It’s not even a competition, the only real concert moments you see are in the ending twenty minutes, and while good. That’s not a lot for a two hour plus movie. 3. The pacing in this movie as well as the character development is pretty lackluster. Looking at this as a Freddy Mercury biopic is not the best description because you barely get to know the real person. The film is highly fictionalized hurting any real connection, and the band mostly plays as comedic relief. So you can’t really call it a Queen movie. All in all this is an average movie, but given the source material, that’s a little insulting. A quick side note is that there are many technical issues with the film. This is a nitpick, but it was fairly noticeable only on a first viewing. I would recommend renting the movie, as it still is well made and acted. It’s just not the Queen movie we deserve especially with the all in performance from rami malek which is probably worth a watch by itself.

My fave of 2018. Rami Malek is Freddy Mercury. A beautifully crafted, believably acted piece of art.
  • Amazing and worth watching & owning.

As much as I really wanted to see a more gritty version, as was originally in works with S. Cohen, I still ended up loving this. I think most any fan of Queen is going to love this for the sheer fact that we've wanted an actual film for years. The acting in this is top notch and you can't beat the soundtrack and mixing. I am not usually affected by movies but I have to admit that I was broutht to tears multiple times in this film, as was my fiancé. I highly recommend this to any fans of Queen and the genre as a whole. However, I also recommend this to anyone who is just learning about Queen. I was surprised how many of my friends walked out of the theater and said "I didn't realized Queen sang some of those songs". Even at their lowest point, they were still putting out solid music. I do hope there is a grittier version that focuses soley on Freddie someday, but this will do in the meantime. Also, to anyone that is giving this bad ratings due to Freddie's sexual preferences, grow up; it's 2019.
