Mid90s : Written and directed by Jonah Hill, Mid90s is a funny, moving look at Stevie, a thirteen-year-old in '90s-era L.A. who meets a new group of friends at a local skate shop. They introduce him to an exciting world hidden in the parks and streets of the city — and offer a distraction from his turbulent home life. A film about the friendships that define us, Mid90s shows that sometimes we find our true family in the most unlikely of places.

  • The real deal

“mid90’s” really captured the 90’s as a teenager but also the reality of a boy trying to find himself. The music was on point especially when Nirvana is on at the party. Watching this brought me back to that same time.
  • Meh

This movie was a let down. I expected more nostalgic mid-90’s content but instead got a movie where a bunch of lower class loser skaters hang out and get drunk at parties. This wasn’t a good representation of the time period or the majority of the age group shown.

I really liked the movie and cannot recommend it enough. Sunny’s performance was stunning. The whole movie felt so raw and so real. I’m very impressed by the work Jonah put into this. When I first watched movies like Kids or Thirteen, I thought man these movies matter and they prove someone out there feels the same way. This movie gave me that same feeling. This movie matters. This movie makes you feel like someone out there gets it. Jonah 100% gets it. I can’t wait to see what else Jonah does in the future because I absolutely love this. I never really thought of Jonah Hill as an artist or even anything more than a funny guy and a good actor and that was so wrong of me. If you can’t see how great of an artist Jonah is after watching this movie then you are crazy. I highly recommend Mid90s, you’d be seriously missing out by not seeing this.

Great movie. Jonah Hill’s does a fantastic job in hiring actors that perfectly portray the role they were assigned. Sunny Suljic payed Stevie better than anyone else could have especially for a younger role. The artistic aspect of this movie stays relevant throughout the film and is supported by a storyline that will keep you wondering and worrying what’s going to happen next.
