Crazy Rich Asians : "Crazy Rich Asians” follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) as she accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick Young (Henry Golding), to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick’s family, Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life. It turns out that he is not only the scion of one of the country’s wealthiest families but also one of its most sought-after bachelors. Being on Nick’s arm puts a target on Rachel’s back, with jealous socialites and, worse, Nick’s own disapproving mother (Michelle Yeoh) taking aim. And it soon becomes clear that while money can’t buy love, it can definitely complicate things.

  • Great - But where are the Spanish subtitles?

    By anon7899
There are translations into a dozen or so languages, but no Spanish.
  • Drivel

Another film to separate us and build on stereotypes. Great.

I don’t get it. Rather than funny, was more about rich people being snobby and obnoxious.
  • Way overrated

    By Eschenbach2017
Over hyped soap opera. Not very funny. Rent or skip.
  • Descent

It was alright but kind of felt like any character could of been replaced by someone else.

  • Perfect for what it sets out to be, and best romantic comedy in over a decade

It’s sweet, emotional, and it really shines a light on one tiny aspect of asian culture; this is NOT meant to be a film about Asians or Asian Americans, but about, well Crazy Rich Asians...which is why I don’t get the criticism (it’s not called “Love in Singapore” so I don’t see why it’s flawed for “omitting” many things about Singapore). Just like the Wolf of Wall Street doesn’t represent all of NY in any era or all of finance, CRA doesn’t represent all Asians or Asian countries. Anyway, the story itself is probably a B+ (comfortably formulaic, it’s a romantic comedy after all) but the overall film gets an A for the production value, the costumes and makeup, the editing, the soundtrack (which had me crying), the acting (Michele Yeoh could be a dark horse candidate for Best Supporting Actress), and of course, the Asian representation. Hard to believe that it had been over 25 years since the last all-Asian major studio film.

No one wants to see another Tyler perry movie. You all get the best jobs, but manage to complain and it’s never enough therefore your input is irrelevant just like you are and will be continued to be ignored by Society. Act classy and get class in return. Act hood and ratchet, get treated that way.

  • Best Movie This Year

    By Deansmith879
I've seen this movie 3 times. It gets better with each viewing. Even if you're not of East Asian descent, you will identify with the universal themes of family, love, and a demanding mother. Plus, plenty of food porn and a great soundtrack. Something here for everyone!

Crazy Rich Asians was totally amazing and even though there were bits that were different than the book it still lived up to every expectation!!! CANT GET ENOUGH OF THIS MOVIE
  • Classy film.

Don’t sleep on this film. A beautiful movie about Love, Values, & Family. Much needed in today’s disposable digital world. Top Class all the way. Bravo 👏 to the entire cast & crew of CRA! Grade: A+
  • Best film 2018 made me laugh, cry & laugh!

    By Suzannah Troy
I can't express how much this film entertained me; made me laugh and made me cry...and laugh! I can't remember when I last laughed like this; it was so healing, uplifting and powerful. I also have never been to Asia and I was wowed for lack of a better word. My 23 and me DNA says way way back when I have Asian ancestry so maybe that's it...the film will appeals anyone around the world who enjoys romance, humor, intelligence, beauty and excellent acting, writing, loves love. "Can't help falling in love" sorry Elvis but wow Kina's version outstanding. Wow!!!!!! Love this film... I do!
  • So sweet!

This is a laugh out loud comedy with a solid emotional center. Amazing cast, great characters, funny and romantic story. Well worth adding to your collection.
  • Fun movie but...

By 991tts wasn't as funny as expected. More of a 3 1/2 stars movie but the cast was good, so 4 stars. Not sure why people seem to love this movie though because it isn't THAT good.
