The Meg : A deep-sea submersible filled with an international research crew lies disabled at the bottom of the Pacific after having been attacked by a massive shark previously thought to be extinct. With time running out, expert deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao) to save the crew—and the ocean itself—from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. What no one could have imagined is that years before, Taylor had encountered this same terrifying creature. Now he must risk his own life to save everyone trapped below...bringing him face to face once more with the greatest and largest predator of all time!

  • Kinda’ too corny.

    By NW Fla
Warm and fuzzy, juxtaposed against hard action and bloody shark innards spewing about. Good CG!
  • Terrible

Run, run from this stupid movie!
  • Please keep these films off the radar

What happened tor real film reviews. RT should be working in Russia trying to elect our next president. With ratings so unbelievably inaccurate RT would have me thinking 60 minutes is real reporting. Don’t waste your time or money watching this piece of trash. Even for 49 cents. Just my 2 cents.
  • Not bad

    By RosalitaMRN
Jason Statham makes the movie. Its actually not bad, keeps you interested. And who doesn’t love a shark movie? Worth watching.
  • Help!

I rented this movie, for some reason it wouldn’t let me watch. I downloaded this movie on to my iPad, still won’t let me watch it. Don’t understand why? I’m doing it under WiFi as well so that’s definitely not the problem. I would like to watch this movie or get credit for another one if I’m still not able to watch it before the 30 days..
  • The worst....

    Movie ever
  • It's not just people that need to get out of the water!

    By TheWriterJulie
What we see is science and exploration driven and is worldly, multigenerational, multiracial, multiligual, with a precious, precocious tot, and strong, smart female rolls with the half-naked person in the shower being played by a man (oh, thank you JS!). What's missing are vile, insidious bad guys with guns, massive navies and horrendous patriarchal corporations digging for dollars or fish for zoos. All they are doing is trying to learn and explore. And, once they've made a mistake, they're tyring to correct it. I can't begin to tell you how refreshing that is. This movie has humor, heart, a huge, fantastic, enviable, underwater facility and living quarters (it's on my wish-list now), deep-sea creatures, subs, nods to Jaws, shocks, awes, lots of heartbreak, more hilarity and maybe even an eventual victory. Either way, it's not just people that need to get out of the water.
  • Not too bad, but could be better

    By Su zi yang
Let’s just say that it’s not the best movie of the year, but at the same time, it’s not the worst either. It’s decent, it made me laugh here and there.
  • I liked it

Not scary but storyline should be a little more interesting but good movie overall
  • Megnificent !!!

While there wasn’t academy award winning acting it was a very good movie that kept us o edge throughout and even sprinkled in a little humor when we needed it! Just like jaws or deep blue sea it’s one of those movies you’ll watch over an over if it’s on HBO FX or TBS! It was way better than the doubters said. We actually enjoyed it.

  • A good roller coaster ride

    By AirForceAggie
Not academy award material, but an entertaining roller coaster ride. Plenty of action and great special effects.
  • Book vs movie

    By Cfhfdgii
The book is far different from the movie but he movie makes up for it with the funny humor and action filled scenes. I would prefer to see the book become a movie(following the events of the book solely) but the movie was amazing regardless of what was taken from the book and left out of the movie, it is a good mix of both worlds. I highly recommend watching the movie before reading the books (so you don’t have conflicting reactions).

I would not suggest wasting your money I was so disappointed with how it turned out! :,(
  • The Meg Should Be Named The Smeg

    By MattJackEA
This movie sucked beyond belief. I should’ve spent the evening hammering my bits with a old shoe. Instead I watched this debacle. I would rather watch those horrendous housewives shows my wife likes. Please God help me forget this horrible creation.
  • Just plain awful

    By soda72
Bad acting to a point of being cringeworthy. The tone is all over the place. One minute they are making jokes, the next someone is getting chomped on. Is this movie suppose to be a scary? it was so bad I'm laughing at it not with it. The trailer was the only thing making this movie look interesting. What a disappointment. Anyone from fresh tomatoes giving this a fresh review has got to be on the take.
  • Don’t

    Please just watch jaws

    By DMyers5
The movie won’t win any awards, but it was fun to watch the special effects were great! I grade movies on if I would watch multiple times. this one will be watched many times!
  • The laziest movie of all time

    By Dan 🇻🇪
I know what this movie was supposed to be, but this is just a cringey, boring mess. Just another lazy “action comedy” for the whole family to watch when there’s nothing else playing.
  • More like “Meh”

    By Striker2110
One of those films where the trailer is better then the movie. I always like Rainn Wilson, who was able to keep some of the movie interesting next to its drab star. Was hoping for more of a “Piranha” type movie where it focuses on the shore line, instead we get a chase movie that doesn’t secure the action it should.
  • Root for the shark. Trust me.

    By sammorris
I liked this movie better the first time when it was called Deep Blue Sea. I mean, that one was awful, too, but at least you got to see Saffron Burrows in her underwear. This was just yet another in an ever growing list of irredeemably bad Jason Statham movies. By the halfway point of this ridiculous non-scary CGI-masturbatorial unintentional comedy farce, I was literally praying for each and every one of these D-list actors to be chewed up and swallowed. Don’t get me wrong, I knew it would be an awful mess, but I wasn’t nearly prepared enough to consume all the human excrement that was in this cinematic dumpster. I would demand my money back from the studio that spawned this Crapenstein monster, but I was fortunate to at least not have been the poor soul that put down the coin to rent it. If this sincerely understated review doesn’t warn you away from watching it, at least root for the shark. That will help numb a little of the pain.
