Ocean's 8 : Five years, eight months, 12 days...and counting. That’s how long Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) has been devising the biggest heist of her life. She knows what it’s going to take—a team of the best in their field, starting with her partner-in-crime Lou Miller (Cate Blanchett). Together, they recruit a crew of specialists: jeweler Amita (Mindy Kaling); street con Constance (Awkwafina); expert fence Tammy (Sarah Paulson); hacker Nine Ball (Rihanna); and fashion designer Rose (Helena Bonham Carter). The target is a cool $150 million dollars in diamonds—diamonds that will be around the neck of world-famous actress Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), who will be centerstage at the event of the year, the Met Gala. The plan is rock solid, but everything will need to be flawless if the team is going to get in and get away with the ice. All in plain sight.

  • Less than expected

Short of a few gimmicks the reboot lacks luster. Dialogue is less than witty, seemingly more cropped and basic. What may have sounded like an interesting take resulted in just another disappointing sequel, more so with the subtle political push of an all female cast.
  • Poorly written and mediocre acting

I won’t say much about this movie as I don’t want to waste too much time of mine or yours reading this review. This is a quick cash grab and nothing more, no real script with any interesting dialogue, poor plot with poor excuses for motivations of characters, poor directing or maybe lazy acting. I was barely able to finish this movie please do not waste your time or money on this piece of trash.

  • Great movie

Frankly, I don’t know why everyone is giving this movie so much crap. It was a quality film with a great cast and a surprising ending. Seeing the concept of Oceans 11 with women was really empowering and nice to see in this genre of movies that is mostly cast with men. Highly recommend.

  • MEH.....

It's not all that. If you're into OKEY-DOKE films, then this is for you. Watch if you desperately need something to do.
  • I liked it

I don’t know why people are giving this a hard time, maybe they are just bored of the oceans franchise formula? I thought it was good and just like the rest of the movies just with a new cast.
  • 🤦‍♂️ Broken from the moment it started.

The original “oceans” series has drum beat rhythms, intriguing characters, and tense moments throughout. This film had a bland soundtrack, boring characters, and no tension until the end sequence. They broke the formula and ended up with a broken movie.

Title pretty much sums it up.

I wanted so much to enjoy this movie but he lacked humor, intrigue and sophistication. Really boring. Would not recommend it.
  • Exactly what you'd expect

The trailers of this made it look like Ocean's 11, but with women. Ocean's 8 basically IS Ocean's 11 with women.
  • It’s okay

I’m not going to lie but this movie barely did okay and people are like,”Oh my god! Best movie ever.” In reality it wasn’t so if you want to watch it just cause there isn’t anything better to watch then this movie will kill some time.

  • Disappointing

    By Coyote & Rose
It’s not a bad movie, but it’s just not a good one either. Great cast, good story, but never reaches it potential. Found the tone of the movie a bit depressing and a ripoff of Ocean’s 11 basic plot line.
  • Terrible Movie

What is the deal with these movies?! Instead of just making an original movie they have started to basically remake what were good movies and replacing all the male roles with females. Next they will be making a female version of Rambo...

They absolutely killed the oceans name. What a bad movie
  • I mean it’s not bad, but..

    By LaceyBooBoo
It’s not bad, but it’s not good either. I had a lot of hopes as I enjoyed the previous Oceans and I love some of these actresses. I get what they’re trying to do, they have the acting talent, but just the story doesn’t have that much going for it. I’ll watch it with my fiancée cause she hasn’t seen it. But I’ll probably be on my phone most the time. Helena Bonham-Carter and Awkwafina save this one.
  • Entertaining but severely overhyped.

Hollywood thinks they are empowering women by promoting this film, but in reality it's setting women back 50 years, showing that nothing natural about them is good, that everything has to be fake to be interesting - their height (impossibly tall stripper heels seem to be required, standard wear if you're nott 6ft tall) their face (makeup hides or paints or distorts every natural feature) and their personalities (Rhinana's character was such a cringy, desperate, insecure wannabe, trying so hard to look cool by smoking weed, and a bunch of other desperate gimmicks like a ridiculous nickname, tattoos, and speaking english like a someone with a head injury). Hollywood is fine for mindless entertainment, but these people have nothing to offer by way of common sense in the world of the real.
