Life of the Party : When her husband suddenly dumps her, longtime dedicated housewife Deanna (Melissa McCarthy) turns regret into re-set by going back to college…landing in the same class and school as her daughter, who’s not entirely sold on the idea. Plunging headlong into the campus experience, the increasingly outspoken Deanna—now Dee Rock— embraces freedom, fun and frat boys on her own terms, finding her true self in a senior year no one ever expected.

  • Pretty funny

My husband and I weren’t sure what to expect, but this movie was pretty good.
  • It’s half and half

I feel she’s off course it’s like its funny one minute and then nothing for awhile then small slapstick humor it’s not a bad movies just meh.
  • I tried to like this -

Love Melissa in most everything she does but I couldn’t make halfway through this film, I didn’t find it funny at all. And what’s with the extremely annoying narration throughout the movie? Was that Reese Witherspoon, BTW? Sad to say, I was glad I only spent .54 at Redbox (with discount code). Hopefully, her next project will be better.

yeah not a great film, tbh pretty SHIIIJJT whatevs tho fun to watch safely with friends and have a mediocre time
  • Movie makes time slow down

I love Melissa McCarthy but let's be honest she only makes good comedy when she plays an angry character. This movie had me staring at the clock waiting for the hour and 20 minutes to finally pass. Sure the idea is good but the execution is extremely poor. Every scene is an (insert joke here) and it is beyond predictable
  • Was “okay”

Humor was pretty lackluster. I had maybe 3 chuckles during the entire movie. Felt very directed to maybe late 30’s/early 40’s audience with subject matter and type of comedy. I felt the trailer painted this as something it wasn’t, and I’d say it was more or less akin to something like Magic Mike where you thought it was one thing and then it took itself a lot more seriously.
  • The worst Melissa McCarthy movie!

Was so disappointed. Terrible acting and terrible direction. Very weak script too.
  • More propaganda than comedy

Lame “jokes” and lots of “you go girl, you’re PERFECT AND EVERYONE SHOULD RECOGNIZE YOUR PERFECTION.” It’s a cringey snooze fest.
  • Over Hyped

I am a HUGEEE melissa mccarthy fan and went to see this movie in theaters but wasn’t blown away. It was good, there were some good laughs cute storyline and all just personally thought it was too over advertised.

  • Good movie

    I actually love this movie
  • Why do they keep giving her parts in movies?

    By Nico_Wolf
She's not funny. Her acting skill is something you'd expect a 8th grade musical in a private school; competent. There's a reason she only gets parts in films that won't amount to much.
  • Love Love Love McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy makes this movie awesome all by herself. It was a great comedy that many Mom’s born in the 80s and 90s can relate to. 4 stars has nothing to do with the movie but more of a disappointment that McCarthy has lost so much weight. Did she want to or did Hollywood pressure her? I L O V E Melissa regardless of her size and if Hollywood had anything to do with it, I’d like to buy a plan ticket and remind Hollywood that middle America pays their wages
  • Funny, loved it

  • It’s what you’d expect

    By Gamer holdem
Entertaining but off the wall. Worth renting, not buying 🤔
  • Light hearted and funny

Great movie for a night in and you want to have a giggle. Lighthearted comedy 👍🏽
  • Weighty problem

    By KFriedC
Ms McCarthy needs to put on another hundred pounds before she can be taken seriously as a comedic actress.

I originally got this movie for my Mom cause she LOVE Melissa McCarthy. I sat and watched it with her and couldn’t stop laughing through out the entire movie. It was so incredibly funny. Melissa is and always will be an amazing actor.
